0 to redredreddish: The Journey from Curiosity to Realisation

0 to redredreddish examines the birth and evolution of a ‘design seed’—a creative process where the hidden rhythms of the natural world are translated into a disciplined visual language. The exhibition explores how the organic irregularities of our environment can be distilled into formal precision. By engaging with macro patterns found within the everyday London landscape, the studio reveals how overlooked details can be reconfigured into visual systems that are simultaneously analytical and sensory.

0: Curiosity | The Blank Slat

The journey begins at 0, representing the very first moment we encounter an object without any external influence. This is the “blank slate” stage, where simple curiosity begins. The exhibition presents a collection of 100 Grid Archive notes, recording natural patterns found across London. Using a specific palette of red, black, green, and blue, these fragments are pinned to the wall. This symbolises the birth of a creative idea and marks the beginning of a lifelong habit of looking closely at the world around us.

to: Observation | Finding the Structure

The word to represents the step where we look deeper. At this stage, the initial spark of curiosity is turned into careful research. The scattered notes from the first stage are simplified into clean, geometric shapes and put into order. By removing unnecessary details, we find the true heart of each object through a grid-based process. These framed artworks act as a "blueprint," showing how a simple observation is translated into the clear and honest language of design.
